Scott Swann showed his adaptability and versatility with two strong rides in the Santander Consumer Finance KTM British Championship during Oulton Park’s Bank Holiday meeting over the weekend.
A steady eleventh place in race one on Sunday was followed up with a strong ride to sixth in race two on Monday, and he now holds a similar position in the championship table.
The 13-year-old schoolboy had never ridden at Oulton Park before, so to have to learn the technical Cheshire track in damp conditions was a test in itself, but with two rounds now under his belt in the series, the smile on the affable Magheramorne lad’s face is getting wider by the day.

Scott Swann: “I was slightly disappointed with my results at Silverstone but I was very nervous as I’d never raced outside Ireland before. Oulton Park is a great track but it would have been a lot of fun to race it in the dry. There were riders crashing out everywhere so I’m really pleased to have taken sixth in the second race. It was wet again, but I was all fired up for a good start and a better result.
"After three laps I had battled my way up to fifth and for last few laps had a great dice with Jordon Gill, just losing out for fifth on the line. I now feel part of the championship as I was a bit worried coming to British championship, but I’m loving it; the people are really friendly and I can’t wait now until the next round at Brands Hatch.”
